Retroactive changes - The Window is Closed

NO!

Sticky post

Quick Note for those who want retroactive changes to items within seasons - Forget It.

Consider that unsupported, because I am not supporting anything calling for that. I have neither the time nor the inclination, and there is at this point no one else to do this -unless you want to do the work yourself. Remember we have 46 seasons and 1,100 teams. Good luck.

Do carry on. Fred

A dozen years, and yet everything old is new again! Got a request for team specific kick block results (meaning a new team specific chart). I’ve learned my lesson! I’ll never do anything like that again.  Have at it if you want to try, there’s roughly 1,650 teams in our game. If you have a proposal for all of them, then it’s an idea.
Got a request also for team defense against interception returns. This is just stupid and just another way to voice displeasure with the current feature. It’s a troll request.  It should be pretty obvious that team returns against a squad will be dependent on two factors:

A) play selection, and if you are prone to make mistakes on throws to the outside, which usually lead to big returns.  If instead you are throwing downfield those usually act more like punts;
B) who you face.  If it’s Ed Reed twice a year or Lester Hayes or Lem Barney, you’ll give up some yards.
We give defensive coverages to punts and kickoffs because there are units dedicated to defending them; I have never heard of any drill where offensive teams are practicing defending interception returns, you’d be hard pressed to find a QB who would participate.
(The best I saw at this, though, was Bert Jones. He was intensely competitive and also pretty big as QBs go.  He didn’t throw many interceptions but he was a big hitter on them when he did, I think I saw him recover at least two such fumbles he caused.)
But, while there is not a snowball’s chance in Hades I will do this kind of research ever again, if you really want the feature do the work! It’s going to be 1650 times two, because the offensive returns would also need to be revised for whom the teams faced.
